R.I.P. leeks

After losing more of the original Yorkshire Giant leeks in the greenhouse, I decided that I was wasting my time and money (paraffin) continuing to look after them, so I turned the heating off. Pip’s progress

The Yorkshire Giant bulbils that I received have now rooted and are starting to come away. Here’s a pic of them, together with a pic of Dave’s own that he set off in November.

16th December

I’ve cut the tops off the original leeks and put them in the greenhouse with heat. I don’t expect them to do any good, but if I get one or two it will be a bonus.

The pips arrived today. 16 of them, of which 2 were unusable.
I took them straight round Dave’s who potted them up and put them in his propagator to bring them on. He said I should still phone up and get my money back, but I can’t be arsed with the chew.
