The Yorkshire Giant bulbils that I received have now rooted and are starting to come away. Here’s a pic of them, together with a pic of Dave’s own that he set off in November.

Even with the paraffin heater on, the temperature went down to 1.5°C in the greenhouse last night. I still haven’t ventured out to look at the leeks yet, relying on reports from Dianne ( they’ve probably been dead for over a week )

We’re off to bonny Jockland tomorrow for a few days to see Di’s Ma and family. I’ll have to check the roads for snow in case any of them are closed before we set off.

I’ve cut the tops off the original leeks and put them in the greenhouse with heat. I don’t expect them to do any good, but if I get one or two it will be a bonus.

The pips arrived today. 16 of them, of which 2 were unusable.
I took them straight round Dave’s who potted them up and put them in his propagator to bring them on. He said I should still phone up and get my money back, but I can’t be arsed with the chew.
